This year our first boil was on February 9th, a new record for us! The early start, and warm weather made it a long and challenging season, but we ended up with a good crop. We surpassed our target of 1.5 L/tap to hit 1.6 L/tap. Not a record season, but a good one! We did our last boil on Good Friday, March 29th despite the return of good sap weather. I think the earlier, double digit, warm weather caused our taps to close up early.
