Well I’m in the thick of the syrup season now! We had a huge day on Thursday, making about 475 L of syrup. Our biggest day so far this season. Our first boil was about two weeks ago and we are now at about 50% of a good season. I expect the next 10 days will be very busy.
I’m returning to the Barrie Farmers’ Market tomorrow, Saturday March 30th, with fresh syrup. I’ll have golden and amber grade. There will be some dark available, but it’s from last year.
There will also be maple butter, candy and sugar available.
Don’t forget about our Maple Weekend Open House on April 6th and 7th from 10 am to 4 pm. There will be maple taffy to taste and the evaporator will be boiling. The smell of maple will be in the air! We will be away from the market on April 6th because of the open house.
